What stands out immediately is that nearly 90 percent of his answers consist of hesitations and phrases like “I don’t know” and “I am unaware.”
He offers no explanation for:
- Why the Negreira payments in 2005 for 60,000€ was recorded as "aloe vera gift packs"
- How Negreira’s son was supposedly producing reports on Spanish referees while he training in Turkey with Fenerbahce
- Why Negreira’s salary was suddenly quadrupled
- Who exactly handled these alleged reports, not even a single name or surname before 2014. Note that Carlos Naval, match delegate of barca working with them since 1980s stated that he received the reports from 2014.
- Why 2010 World Cup related reports were created before the World Cup had even taken place.
- Laporta admits reports provided are from the son, not the father. But, the son in his statement made it clear that he had nothing to do with his father's companies.
Luis Enrique: “During the six years I was the coach of barca, no one offered me reports or showed me reports. And I can assure you of that. Neither to me nor to anyone who was part of my staff.”
The existence of these multi-million euro “reports” was unknown not only to Luis Enrique, but also to former coaches Ernesto Valverde and Tata Martino, as well as their respective coaching staffs.
By continuing to push the narrative that the Negreira payments were for simple referee reports, Laporta has effectively cornered himself. Every testimony from former coaches directly contradicts this explanation.
