That time he agreed to buy Twitter for far more than it was worth, then tried everything he could to get out of the deal but couldn't, so he had to sell a ton of Tesla shares to make up for it, tanking Tesla's stock price and further reducing his net worth so he had to ask the Saudis for the funds to buy Twitter which I'm sure is fine
And that's not to mention all the times he tweets an idea he has which is so categorically stupid he has no choice but to play it off like he was joking, but he really isn't
He's like Steve Jobs. He's the face of the brand who takes all the credit from the people who actually do the jobs and come up with the ideas that work
The best "idea" he had was to make Teslas have a unique charging port (which is one of his 3 patents with Tesla, the other two being for a door and the other for the general look of a Tesla) so that you can only charge a Tesla at a Tesla charging station, then building a bunch of Tesla charging stations around the country so that it would be easier for you to charge a Tesla than any other EV, thereby increasing Tesla sales. Which, when you think about it, doesn't really make a lot of sense if you think he's trying to "save the planet" cause if that were so, he'd've pushed for standardization of the charging port to make it as ubiquitous as gas stations. Like, imagine the nightmare it would be if you could only fill up your gas car at certain gas stations, and that's essentially what he did with EVs
It's kind of ironic he's the CEO of Tesla, cause he has much more in common with Edison.
