Barcelona’s official salary limit has fallen by €112million (£97.6m; $131.4m) in the latest figures released by La Liga, mostly due to issues over the ‘VIP zones’ lever at its Camp Nou stadium.

Barcelona’s limit when the figures were made public last February was €463m, a calculation made after their previous club auditor certified €100m raised by selling 25 years of future revenues from 475 VIP boxes at the Camp Nou, which is currently under reconstruction.

Barca’s current auditors did not agree to certify this €100m as income, which led to a situation in which the Catalan club were in breach of their salary limit during the summer 2025 transfer window, and relied once again on creative means to register summer signings, including Joan Garcia and Marcus Rashford.

On Friday, La Liga announced Barca’s current limit as of September 2025 at €351m, a drop of €112m from February’s figures. Essentially, this limit represents how much teams can spend on wages, with each club’s figure calculated according to their revenue. If a club exceeds that limit, La Liga will not accept any new player registrations — so even if they make a signing, the player will not be eligible to play.

“The fall matches almost exactly with the €100m of the Palco VIPS,” La Liga’s director general Javier Gomez explained at a media event held at La Liga HQ in Madrid. “Last winter, there was an auditor who said yes (to the VIP seats lever), but the current auditor said no. So that €100m was subtracted (from their salary limit).”

Another potential issue is that Barca have not yet received the full €100m due for the VIP seats lever. Sources with knowledge of the situation, speaking anonymously as they were not authorised to publicly discuss matters, say that New Era Visionary Group (NEVG), owned by Molodovan businessman Ruslan Birladeanu, initially paid only €28m of the €70m promised for their share of the operation.

2003-ban Laporta és Riijkard elkezdték felépíteni a baszó csapatot, majd akkora mákunk volt, hogy Ronaldinhoék mellett/után azonnal előhúztuk a kalapból Messit és Iniestát. Legjobb korban lévő, top3 játékosok voltak minden poszton kb 2015-16-ig. (mínusz Valdes). akármennyit gondolkodom rajta, nem jövök rá, mi szükség volt lefizetni a bírókat. kíváncsi vagyok, hogy a Liga mivel akar minket kimosni a szarból. ne legyen kétségetek, meg fogják próbálni.
